Re: Will it or won't it? At last!

Looking forward to a photo sue :) Sent on the go from my telephone This morning I came into my kitchen to find, after about a week, this little beauty! It is kept on a kitchen window which only gets evening sun. Why it has decided to flower now I have no idea! Best place for it maybe? 15415 040.JPG

Although I don't grow these kinds of cacti at the moment they do have real beauty when they flower.

The flower is getting close to opening  Photo will follow very soon....

I have been watching this bud form on my Christmas Cactus, sitting on kitchen window facing westerly direction and receives evening sun.

I had good fun trying to name them! The first photo, could the poor old plant do with more light? Seems to be stretching.

I can count on the fingers of one hand the cacti I have bought that have been named

Always the case that, especially when you "rescue" them from Wilkinsons or similar. Lovely plants

Oh that is nice I think I have one of these. How long before Aloes flower, do you have to wait long?

Re: First flowers this year

Peter A - what a nice little plant. R Minuscula I believe was a plant that my sister had many many years ago and flowered really well. I think it may have flowered itself to death. It had white bristly (not sharp at all) spines and lovely red flowers. Does that should like the right plant?
