How much are you watering it?
Slightly damp substrate and bottom heat is a good way forward to get roots going with well-calloused cuttings.

Re: BCSS AGM 2024 - Unappealing photo!
OK, this has escalated. As the website administrator and publicity officer of a club (totally unrelated to C&S), I have some understanding of the time take in preparing and presenting publicity material, and also of the difficulty in obtaining suitable photos, information and text at times. I al...

BCSS AGM 2024 - Unappealing photo!
Is there any chance the photo for the 2024 AGM could be changed? Here's the page: https://bcss.org.uk/event/bcss-agm-2024/ And here's just the photo: https://bcss.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Leicester-forest-east1.jpg If I were in 2 minds about attending I think this shot of the venue would pu...

Re: Repotting at this time of year in the UK?
I just checked out Echeveria chameleon. Apparently "Echeveria 'Miranda Chameleon' is a unique and eye-catching houseplant that features fleshy leaves dyed in a shimmering, metallic paint.." It looks like E. agavoides plus a paint job, so should be a very tough, forgiving plant, tolerant of...

Crack on! Or maybe wait until Sunday when a spell of milder conditions hit many areas.
Just be sensible - use a dry potting medium, don't leave it anywhere cold and damp.

Re: Seeking Mammillaria densispina
It's on the ADBLPS seed list: Mammillaria densispina ML 312 > La Ciénega-Terrero del Refugio 2300m/AGS/Mexique It may be worth putting a post in the Wants/Swaps section on the forum for either seed or someone to add a single packet to an order with ADBLPS (or any other seed supplier who has it).

Re: It's going to get cold.
Hi all, I agree with Akko re the paper idea and fleece, also I think that bubble wrap is ineffective after a few hours and can cause condensation. If only a small collection I move the sensitive ones inside, and my heater cuts in at 3C. This raises my 12x10 ghouse up to 4 or 5 C, then it’s set to c...

Re: Seedlings stopped growing.
I use mineral only mix for raising seeds and use sealed plastic containers, sterilised and soaked with fertilised water prior to sealing. I find I get a growth check after a few months if I don't open up each container and start fertilising after germination and some growth has occured. As you are u...
