Copiapoa laui

It's pouring with rain and grey skies,
but these couple of C.laui have brightened up nicely.

Both need potting up, the bowl on the right is looking a bit oval :)

I agree too, I would comfortably use these two labels.
1. Copiapoa humilis
2. Copiapoa hypogaea

I get black segments mostly on T. geometricus. I've left them too before and they eventually dried out and changed to a crusty white. I cut this one open to see it didn't appear to travel far from the surface ? Whatever it is, it would be nice to prevent it though :) Tephrocactus geometricus (1).JPG...

If you keep 'the edges' of your laui potted lower, so the very outer offsets are level with the gravel top dressing, they will offset more around the edges just below the gravel line, and keep a much flatter overall look. I'm not sure though what's best to make them flower, but they seem to put on a...

This is JA195, seems to be consistently chalky in my growing conditions. Wow, that looks really white, really nice. Interesting too is that I read recently that our soil mixes are very similar, with the cat litter/gravel etc. I haven't used perlite also for at least 10 years or more. I use Chempak ...
