It's a winter grower, growing in the Canary Islands, so if you are keeping it in a heated greenhouse or above freezing environment, I would suggest you water it a little. Providing you grow it in a very well-drained mix, as that is how it grows naturally, which should encourage rooting.

Please ask your friends to pot their plants in pots with drainage holes and proper compost, for instance 50% John Innes and 50% grit or similar. Put them in a sunny window and don't let anything touch them, if possible. I understand small children and cats etc don't worry about touching things. I ha...

It looks a delightful place and I'm very impressed that you put many plants on conventional furniture. My only worry is that your desire to increase your collection may overcrowd the room and push out some furniture and possibly you. How many more will there be in winter? I have one that I used to call Aloe mitriformis, this is now called Aloe x nobilis. Aloe brevifolia has smaller leaves, which grow in a layered stack and the plant is smaller and does not have the spikes on the top level of the leaves.

I would also add, that one E cante was bought as a normal plant and one as a Tissue Culture plant, the first is fine but the latter, always seems to have brownish marks on it and at times is a very odd shape. I lost a Tissue Culture one once and have come to the conclusion that they are not reliably...
