The Jamaica Horticultural Society Flower Show was last weekend. I mounted a display of about 40 cacti and other succulents as I have done for the past two or three years, showing a range of species.

Re: Baby Mammillarias
Beauties. Indeed, ones for the wish list.
How old are the T. valdezianus? I have a few from seed but they just seem to sit there and do nothing - they are three to four years old I think. Am I just being impatient?

Re: April flowers
Lovely flowers. The leuchtenbergia principis is beautifully grown, with no dry ends, if only mine were like that. What is the tiny plant in the pot with it, a weed I am sure? Definitely a weed. I have been keeping the L. principis in standing water and this weed grows profusely. I weed out but it g...

Re: Request for Seed Donations
Epithelantha micromeris? No thanks. Mammillaria spec? No thanks twice. Etc. I understand the thought process. But I say yes to Epithelantha micromeris and dependng on the Mammillaria, yes also. Some of the plants I consider to be very ordinary I may find that people who visit my planthouse are inte...

Re: Request for Seed Donations
What do members do with excess seed that is harvested? Sometimes it really is impractical to sow all the seed and it just sits and gets stale. It may be a little work to clean seed that you won't personally use, though. For plants that are very generous, I often end up just leaving the seedpods on t...

Which is this mammillaria? Not mathildae!
This is one of the results from a packet of seed that should have been M. mathildae. I have just kept it as unknown and it is doing very well, flowering and now seedpods havee popped up. Re: Aloe ID needed
Thanks for all the feedback. I am good with at least being able to place it as a hybrid of something - not just an Aloe.
