Candy-stripe Matucana mystery

It's always a pleasure when a plant you've grown from seed flowers for the first time. It's taken five years for this one. As the bud developed it looked like it would either be yellow or orange. What I was not expecting was candy-stripe pink! The seed was bought from ADBPLS as 'Matucana huagalensis...

Re: Thelocactus rinconensis help!

It's also possible the spray has had an effect on its growth. Out of interest, what did you use? With luck it will regrow normally in due course.

Re: Definitely time for a repot

Actually, it did once before. Fortunately just damaged itself. I rescued and re-rooted the top section about three years ago.

Re: Aloe ID

This is the plant I have labelled Silver Ridge (the one in the foreground). I like it because it seems really free-flowering and is happily flowering outside through the summer.

Re: Will it ever flower?

I have been tempted to remove the sprawling branch of my M. aureispinus. But it would inevitably leave an obvious and rather ugly scar, so I think for now I'll put up with its selfish demand for bench space!
