Hi Tina,

Yes it was seed grown, but not by me, I received it from a friend who got the seed from Mike Massara, who described the species. My plant is a progeny from the large, multi-branched female plant pictured in the original description.

My plant has not flowered yet, I do not know if it is either male or female.

Cheers,

Marlon.

and the 'other plant' from Arid lands but it's gone mad with pups all over the body. On the plus side it still hasn't produced any seed even though it's been with the rest of the Dorstenia's.

It's very worrying if they are selling hybrids as the real thing or is it just a sport, what's the verdict????.

Hi Tina,

Your first one looks just like mine, the difference is the narrower (or perhaps taller) body and slightly longer leaves. But your second is indeed odd, it does not look like the real thing! Are both plants growing together? The offsetting plant is more tanned, and seems to be getting more sun than the single plant. Or is it just an impression?

Cheers,

Marlon.

Hello Marlon and Tina

I have the feeling that the plants from Aridlands are not pure lavrani. I have also a plant from them purchased about 5 years ago under the name "Tabbaa George" and I'm sure it is not pure because it is bisexual and can occasionally produce its own seeds! see the picture of the plant below compare to a pure lavrani bought in UK in the next pic. These two plants are grown side by side so to eliminate phenoypic differences due to environment.
