Fantastic drawings, Lithos. I am full of admiration. I wish that I could do the same but unfortunately, though my patience is renowned, my artistic ability lounges at the opposite end of the scale!

Collection mainly of cacti, though interested in a much wider variety of plants than I can accommodate!

Have you ever thought about doing a booklet/book with these sort of drawings in as they are great and I think a lot of people would buy it
I have a book called Cacti & Succulents ~ A Collection of Watercolours that was produced by Winter Garden, Aberdeen I only got it because the pictures were nice and it was different from other books out there

Thank you Chris for your comments- any chance you post some scans of the booklet ? or p.m. me if that breaks any rules. Mal, I've done a few with crayon, and made some out of lego which my nephew and nieces were a great help with - Probably not a lot of artistic merit but I almost prefer them. As Phil Hocking mentions in earlier posts just draw what you see, it's never going to turn out how you want it to - (mine rarely do) but with a few attempts you may surprise yourself. By the way if you are patient I could with some help on my lifesize model of a blue whale made with matchsticks, after 8 years I've got one eye looking just right - I think..

When I first started this thread I hoped other folks would post their drawings too.

Well Phil I haven't done any drawings of cacti or succulents yet but this engraving includes an Oxalis, which is related to things that accompany our plants all too often in their pots. It is based on a photo I took at the Eden Project and the other plants are two different Marantas. I engraved a vinyl floor tile with wood engraving tools and printed from that.

The book has pictures similar to the ones in the book
A Concise Guide in Colour
Cacti and Succulents
by Rudolf Subik (first published in 1968)

Not sure that I could put picture on here (copyright) but my scanner is not working right at moment anyway
