That's what i feel like when a cactus opens their flower to show me that all is well and they are happy in their environment.
My Lobivia allegraiaha, Lobivia hertrichana , Echinopsis hertrichiana has flowered with another waiting in the wings.
I know this is old hat to the majority of members but to me i feel i am a young kid with a new and exciting toy.

Lovely deep colouring, Maurice. I know exactly how you feel when a cactus blooms, especially if you've had a long wait.

I find there's always a thrill when a flower opens.

Every flower is exciting to me. I feel it's my plants' way of saying they're happy with me. :-) Very beautiful colour.

Very nice flower. I like Lobivias.
I said about myself "happy like a fool" when my Echinocereus pentalophus flowered first time.

Nice flower. Don't assume everyone on here is a mega-expert. And it's a pity when the time comes that excitement about a flower diminishes just because "It did that last year". I remember my first huge one-night Selenicereus flower, but one the other night just got a quick glance in the evening.
And can I just have a gentle poke about mis-spelling of the names - each variant typed is yet another mistake for people to fail to find using search engines, or to copy in the future.
So far, in this thread, we should have had (and posts can be edited):
allegraiana - with an 'n', not an 'h' (do I recall from another thread that this one originated from an illegible label)
hertrichiana - with a second 'i', like the one next to it
pentalophus - without an extra 'h'
