Stunning pics! Looking at those images of capitata I wonder why I have these, they look HUGE! Do all varieties grow so tall (I have quartziticola)? I also have conifera, but I am struggling with that one. My plant has a tendency to loose its roots quite easily. Still, it's alive. That A. fallax is awesome! Thanks for posting these great photographs, Philippe!

Aloe capitata cipolinicola is the only specy of capitata to have a trunk all the others are acaulous
And I agree with Castillon who separate in his book cipolinicola and create a specy :cipolinicola
Conifera grow on inselberg with a little stickness of the soil (4-5cm) so a good draining mix in a cup (no deep pot ) and no calcareous
For the fallax mine are also green even here in the south of France (Now I have some suckers I'll try the full sun next year )
