So, just what is the world coming to, when the first pictures of a new Mexican cactus appear on Facebook! WHatever that is?

Aztekium valdezii, looks to be the link between ritteri and hintoni, if there wasn't a habitat photo I would have thought it an artificial hybrid between the two. Has anyone tried that?

Sign of the times. You need to be the first to mention it, like it, share it, deny it, dismiss it, whatever. Just be the first, everything else falls short of that - be it courtesy, sensibility, you name it.

Wow Could a new star have been born!? You can certainly see the missing link here between Ritteri & Hintonii if this is to be a legitimate species.

Sure seems to be the link between the two previous species, but it seems odd that they took the myriostigma road to get from one to the other...

Jokes aside, it looks lovely.

Very interesting. Could it be a new species or a natural hybrid? Who knows, but no doubt there's going to be a frenzy over it.

I hope this Aztekium growns on vertical cliffs, high up from the ground and far away from the top edge...
