Re: Another early one
Thank you Aiko, I assumed Ian had not stuck buttercup flowers to a Gymno but that is as far as I got, beautiful plant which I will now find some more information about.Aiko wrote:Cintia knizei, or whatever it is called nowadays...Keith H wrote:Very nice Ian, but what is it?

Mine are determined to flower in sequence. They know I want seed.

Maybe starve them for a while, then apply water and see if they all spring to life together?

Re: Another early one
I have three Lobivia famatimensis that do exactly the same thing and seem to keep the same sequence every year. I now resort to placing them in different spots in the greenhouse when they begin to bud. The earliest goes into a shady spot until the middle ones buds have caught up in size. The latest one goes to a top shelf where it keeps the sun longer. With any luck I get a bit of overlap in the flowering.Phil_SK wrote:Mine are determined to flower in sequence. They know I want seed.
Especially interested in Mesembs. small Aloes and South African miniatures and bulbs.

Re: Another early one
You could always try saving the pollen from the early flowering ones for the later ones:-

Re: Another early one
Two of them are flowering for only the first time, so I'll let them settle a while before I worry too much about it.
