Thank you Aiko, I assumed Ian had not stuck buttercup flowers to a Gymno but that is as far as I got, beautiful plant which I will now find some more information about.

Mine are determined to flower in sequence. They know I want seed.

Maybe starve them for a while, then apply water and see if they all spring to life together?

I have three Lobivia famatimensis that do exactly the same thing and seem to keep the same sequence every year. I now resort to placing them in different spots in the greenhouse when they begin to bud. The earliest goes into a shady spot until the middle ones buds have caught up in size. The latest one goes to a top shelf where it keeps the sun longer. With any luck I get a bit of overlap in the flowering.
Especially interested in Mesembs. small Aloes and South African miniatures and bulbs.
Keen propagator and compulsive 'tickler'!

Nottingham Branch BCSS. Joined the then NCSS in 1961, Membership number 11944. Cactus only collection.

Two of them are flowering for only the first time, so I'll let them settle a while before I worry too much about it.
