Can anyone tell me what is going on with my grafted Yav. crypt. It has changed shape from round on top, to an elongated sideways shape, also it has queezed the flower so much that it could only half open. At 5oclock in the picture there is a small fissure. Will try to upload some pictures if I can. Thanks.

I don't know but the plant does look amazing! Perhaps it's decided to go cristate or dimorphic?

You've overcooked it!

Yavias tend to go bad on grafts, as they get fed more than they can cope with, in my experience.

I agree Ralph. Mine (grafted) blew after first generous watering.

Hi all, you could be correct, but this plant is 11year old, and might have succumbed a long time ago if it was because of bad management. Thanks

Hi Richaud, thanks for the interest. Sorry but could not identify the stock as plant was grafted when bought. Only ever had 2 grafted plants, the other is a 20 year old Uebelmania, badly marked but still going strong. All credit to the original grower and grafter. Cheers

Here you go Richaud, Don't know if it will be of help due to its age. LoL. Pic. of old Uebelmainia pect. the stock dissapeared many moons ago and now its on its own roots. Seems to be growing a pup at the apex. Cacti are always full of suprises. Cheers. ps sorry about angle of first picture.
