This is what I have as T. bicolor var pottsii, from society seed. I don't know about twisted spines, but certainly longer spines than the other plants shown here.

Sorry I meant like the plant on the left where the ribs have a twist to them, can't get my brain in gear- nothing new I know.

Does Thelocactus flavidispinus fit this thread? The flower is a match and the spines hetero-ish.....

I see the resemblance, but a crucial difference is that T. flavidispinus is supposed to have extrafloral nectaries and my plant certainly doesn't. My plant also has the slightly understated flowers (in comparison to other T. bicolor) that are typical of ssp heterochromus. Var pottsii is known for its intermediate character, so the appearance isn't surprising.
