Before you bin the plant,save the bits that look normal,I´m sure they will stay healthy.

Rebutia don't have a long life : in my opinion your plant is simply old :wink:

Hi Ralph
I talk from my own cultivation and also from a visit at Canary cactus where they say that one of the only genus they couldn't cultivate in the island was Rebutias :4-5 years and they die
And in nature (Bolivia and Argentina ) where you don't see big specimens

I agree with everything Ralph says this is a picture of my Rebutia heliosa that I grew from seed in 1995 it is in a 13cm pan. I have an even older plant that I haven't a picture of that I also grew from seed. I grow a lot of Rebutias both species and hybrids and I find they are quite long lived plants.
I am pretty sure your plant has red spider as a similar thing happened to one of my Rebutias a couple of years ago and I took a couple of heads off and let them dry off and put them to root down. I find that red spider nearly aways attacks the side of the plant not readily visible to you.
Everyones growing conditions and soil mixes are different.

Sylvia nice plant, yes I think RSM and mealy bug know which side of the plant you spray Provado from :lol:
the plant at the top of this post does seem to have mite damage
