I bought this Rhipsalis last week. On the name tag it was written Rhipsalis bacciferera, but it must be Rhipsalis baccifera. However, it does not look like the standard R. baccifera. Could this be subsp. Horrida or something else?

It looks like an etiolated (but otherwise extremely healthy) Echinopsis chamaecereus

I bought it from Plantagen, which is a very large garden center. There were many different kinds of Rhipsalis for sale in hanging baskets (Rhipsalis was a speciality of the season). I'm pretty sure this is Rhipsalis, and subsp. Horrida looks very much like this, but I'm not sure. All of these ones were named as Rhipsalis baccifera.

Hi Pia,
It looks more like R.pilocarpa to me.

Thanks for your comment, kamos! This would not be the first time when plants are named incorrectly.

I have grown both baccifera ssp. horrida and pilocarpa, and I think this one looks more like horrida. Both flower relatively easily, so it will probably soon be obvious what it is.

Thanks, Bob! I hope I manage to keep it that way. I have no prior experience with Rhipsalis.

Now two flowers have opened in my rockery (Opuntia fragilis 'Füssen')! There are about 70 buds in four small plants. I planted them two years ago, and they have survived two harsh winters in Finland totally unprotected. I took these photos today in three different conditions: full sunshine, semi-shade, and shade.
