Re: Huernia barbata

Post by purzo »

That's a nice Huernia Mike. Am I right in thinking that it looks like some of the tips on the left may be dying back? I have the same thing on some of my Huernias occasionally. Do you think that this is just part of the natural ageing process or does it mean that the plants growing conditions are not right in some way?
Cheers
Gary

It probably is Purzo but that's because circumstances meant my collection had to be housed elsewhere for 4 months without attention whilst I moved house.

Huernia time is arriving! I'll add my Huernia plowesii to your thread Mike, if that's OK - this is a small plant acquired last year, super flower!

What beautiful flowers! Well done Mike and Diane. (tu)

I never have any luck with these plants.

Plowesii is a beauty alright. My plant of that got too big so I've broken it up to start again.

I've also changed the title to Huernia flowers so we can get some more in this thread.

Huernia sp. Saudi - Arabia, Collette 7828. Very reliable. For the moment!

Huernia hystrix. Common but lovely. A friend of mine reckons it looks like a Cossacks hat!
