Cylindropuntia Molesta Odd Bend

Post by Dude »

I bought this Cylindropuntia Molesta in August, I bought it cheap 5£. I thought it was worth a shot.

I was hoping it would draw towards the sun and get erect but nothing happens.

My therory is that it's not getting any water and perhaps that's why it's not stiff and therefore not erect. Perhaps it's another issue alltogether?

Just to be on the safe side. I though I'd ask if there could possibly be something wrong?

Seems OK to me, just needs support with a cane for a year or two. This will help to strengthen the stem so that it can take the weight of the top growth.

Looks quite normal to me for this species ( it does tend to lean and grow a little on the wild side ) but a good cutting back every two years or so makes for stronger growth from the base.
