I love seeing them germinate, makes we want to go and sow some more :)
Maintain National collections of Copiapoa, Matucana and Turbinicarpus for Chester Zoo
Personal favorites Ferocactus, Astrophytums or anything with a purple or pink colour.

Im proud of this ones. Mammillaria lasiacantha, 3 months old. Because are seeds from my land. I want to sow more things from here the next spring

The Economist is not the only one interested to know what your growing mix is? Is it a pure mineral mix with no organic matter.

A lot ask me, but I don´t do special recipes, I avoid to fertilize also. I use a very mineral substrate, the 20% of the substrate have a mix between humus and normal soil. The principal mineral is red lava(scoria), very small particles, between 2-3 mm, like 10% limestone and 10% construction sand, very good for species from North Mexico
