Picked these two up from Wilkos, they have some nice C&S at the moment. These little ones are 2 quid each, trouble is the pot theyre in is wedged into a clay outer pot which has no drain hole. Tut tut. I had a fight to get the true pot out too! But anyway, I chose the Titanopsis because I remember it being a desirable succy but I couldn't remember what it was called. Google jigged my memory.
The cactus however I have no idea. Not sure if its a mamm and it looks too tall for a Rebutia. Haageocereus perhaps?

You can take the boy out of the greenhouse, but you can't take the greenhouse out of the boy!

Re: Titanopsis calcareum and an unknown cactus
Actually, it is Titanopsis calcarea and not Titanopsis calcareum. It should be able to withstand frosts very well, assuming it is in good health and not (too) wet. It is a winter active mesemb, though can tolerate summer waterings.
The other plant looks like a Mammillaria. I have no idea which species, though.

Your Titanopsis calcarea is so green! Mine are all sorts including gray, stone colour etc.
Wonder what makes it so green...
Looks like mine is growing in Spring as only a few are green (new growth I believe).

It looks like a Mammillaria - possibly M. pilcayensis? Difficult to ID without flowers...

Depends on how you grow your plants. In a window sill, or do you have a greenhouse?Greenlarry wrote:Thanks Aiko. Winter growing, so will I ever see it flower?
If you have a greenhouse and you leave your Titanopsis in the greenhouse during the winter, I am sure it will flower somewhere between December and March.
