Hi Sylvia, these are gorgeous!!!!!! I used to grow cacti years ago and I'm just about to start again. Can you recommend a supplier for Rebutia seeds, I've trawled the Internet and had very little success within the UK. Thank you, Judith.

Eric - I use on alternate occasions Provado aerosol and Bayer's "Bug Free", I am not sure whether the latter one is still available as I haven't seen it recently.

Thanks for the info Sylvia, will have to locate a source, and also be more vigilant. Cheers

I fully agree. Lobivias, rebutias and sulcos are the most rewarding ones when you want an enormous display of flowers! You almost need sunglasses when entering the greenhouse in middle/late may. This is my main objection of cacti books. The focus is always on the flowers, sometimes you can hardly see the plant! I grow and buy plants for their looks, the flowers are just a bonus! The plant flowers for a month, the rest of the time it´s vital that there is a nice plant body to look at. Whats your opinion?

Hi Judith - the only two suppliers of Rebutias seeds I know are Khoers in Germany and Mesa Garden in the USA. Other members may of other seed suppliers. I haven't grown Rebutias from seed for a while although I am experimenting with some hybrids of my own.

I've had Rebutia (well, Aylostera and sulco) seed from http://www.bercht-cactus.nl/ http://kaktusyhk.cz/index.php/2015-16 (Autumn only) http://www.succseed.com/1 and http://adblps-graines-cactus.com/ I've had good results from all. October-December is the best time, as soon as each publishes their new list.

Succseed is a very good source of Rebutia seed. So is Ralf Hillmann.
