Interesting to know. I do prefer my plants to be completely free of any bugs, but so long as these only eat decaying plant matter I won't go out of my way to get rid of them.

I have a Czech book from the sixties on cacti on succulents which thoroughly recommends DDT for any pests. I bet that would do the trick...

Not beetles, mites, count the legs :) besides flea beetles are about 20x the size and live on brassicas
