What is happening here?

Post by RWW »

I am a novice Cactus grower but really enjoy growing them from seed.

Each year I'll get a pack of mixed seeds and see what I get!

The cactus pictured below is about 7 or 8 years old and has just finished flowering. Can anyone tell me what the little growth on the side is or will be?

Thanks

Richard

It looks as though your cactus has an offshoot. Just watch it grow. If you don't like it you could remove it once it gets to a decent size and root it separately.

Growing a mixed collection of cacti & other succulents; mainly smaller species with a current emphasis on lithops & conophytum.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Rod. Much appreciated.

I'll certainly leave it on and see what type of branch appears!
