Goodmorning,
Two plants both with the name E.colorata.
Is this first one a E. colorata var colorata
and is the second one a E. colorata var brandtii?
greets and thanks
Harry

I'd say the first is correct but the second is not brandtii because its leaves should be longer and narrower (see photo on page 88 of John Pilbeam's book The Genus Echeveria)

Cacti and succulents with data - especially clonotypes, topotypes, old clones, ISI introductions - basically plants with stories!

Thanks Steven,
Checked Pilbeam on it and the second is to different.
Do you think ihe second one is a form of E. colorata or just some hybrid?

Re: Can you agree on Echeveria colorata
I think the first one is the selection of E. colorata that is often called E. lindsayana (see Pilbeam page 87) but is now regarded as part of E. colorata. The second one could still be E.colorata.

I also checked these out on the International Crassulaceae Network and they give the same result as John Pilbeam. I would agree with Steve on the identity of both of them.
Obsessive Crassulaceae lover, especially Aeoniums but also grow, Aloes, Agaves, Haworthias and a select number of Cacti.
