Lobivia ID please

Post by Sheila »

Hi,

I believe these are all Lobivias (or Echinopsis) but could anyone ID the species for me please.

I'm sorry the pictures are not particularly good.

I'd say maximiliana, hertrichiana and backebergii ssp wrightiana (v. winteriana).

Hi,

Thank you, lobman, for your reply. Sorry not to have got back before. It seems to be the first of the three plants over which you disagree with Phil.

Shortly after I got it, it produced a large, dark fruit. I thought I had a picture of it, but can't find it. I don't know if that might make a difference to the ID.

Best wishes,
Sheila

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, the fruit could have been compared to a large, dark gooseberry. It has never produced one since but I think I will go with tegeleriana.

Best wishes,
Sheila
