Wanted to inquire if there was a subsection or a thread for the MSG pertinent to cultivation from seed and so on. Im a new member to the MSG, and at times feel like an idiot navigating a bike without necessary training wheels. Are there reference threads, images, a possible Q&A section?
Thanks.
Is there a MSG forum or thread here?

Re: Is there a MSG forum or thread here?
The MSG or Mesemb Study Group are an independent organisation with their own web site: http://www.mesemb.org/, but they do not have a Q&A forum. The BCSS also covers Mesembs of course and we are happy to talk about their cultivation here. Search previous postings for much good information about your favourite genera.

I asked the same question when I (re)joined a while ago. Seems not, but Mesem Study Group experts are here and I am sure would answer questions.
Terry Smale's info is generally regarded as the quick guide to cultivation of Lithops and Conophytums, including seed raising -
see http://www.smale-conophytum.co.uk/
for Conophytums expert Chris Rodgerson refers you to TS too, so I think that represents expert consensus!
I have always found Conophytums a lot more demanding than Lithops, which in my experience are easily grown from seed, generally with good germination rates.
Another source for seeds and plants is Uwe Beyer in Germany,
http://www.conos-paradise.com/en/shop/index.html
(He has a cultivation section mainly for Lithops, as you'll see the advice is a little different, particularly sowing time. In my experience Lithops will germinate well at all times and at higher temperatures than suggested by the above, but I wouldn't sow in Autumn unless I intended to keep the seedlings warm and growing through the first winter. Also beware out-of-date advice on pesticides, rules change and choices are very limited now.)
