Hi All,
Many thanks for the suggestions, hopefully one of them will come to fruition

Re: Aloe pillansii - again
Is it too big for Paul in Essex? Or just not hardy enough? Just a thought. Contact someone like Alan Tichmarsh or Monty at BBC or Gardeners World. Or RHS? Surely someone wants it. eBay?

Re: Aloe pillansii - again
Hi Jane,
I did ask Paul if he wanted it about a year ago and he refused because A.pillansii is not hardy, would have been a lovely spot for it otherwise. We are now exploring the possibility of it being wanted by RBG Kew.
Would never want it to go anywhere near Monty Don, Alan Titchmarsh is an outside possibility but we will run with the prospects we have for the moment.
Many thanks, Suzanne

Hi Suzanne, don't know if I have missed it, but have you a picture of this wonderful Aloe ? When it leaves your g/h for pastures new, I doubt if it will be photographed and shown on this forum. Thanks

Re: Aloe pillansii - again
I have seen this pillansii and it is a seriously big boy. The logistics of shifting it will be pretty complicated.
I wish you good luck with Kew. The red tape surrounding any donations to Kew make it almost impossible. I have given up now I'm afraid.

I presume you have asked one of our 'patrons' Tom ? I know mater and pater are 'skint', but surely some of the other nobs they know may still have intact good height orangeries.
Re: Aloe pillansii - again
Well yes....it's enormous. Just seems so awful no-one wants to know. Can see logistics of transporting it would be tough! Stunning photos from Tony. Best of luck. I don't like Monty, it was last ditch. Think Alan lives on Isle of Wight now. Would it even fit! Someone involved with Chelsea flower show? They move all sorts. Whose the mad Irish chap?

Whoa, awesome plant, I can now see the logistics problem that was mentioned by JaneO. I can also visualise the meaning of a "tree Aloe". I really do hope a good home is found for it. Thanks Tony. Cheers
