Re: BCSS Seeds
I decided in July that I wouldn't order any BCSS seeds as I have too many packets of seeds.....
The envelope has arrived this morning with my seeds in......
Everything present and correct too.

Re: BCSS Seeds
Does anybody know if the extra info is on the website somewhere? The /seed.php link is getting me to 2015's.

Re: BCSS Seeds
Has anyone else got some rather unexpected seedlings out of the Rebutia cajasensis? Mine are certainly not cacti! They look more like annual lobelia seedlings, but it is too early yet to judge.
It could be contamination at my end, perhaps, but it's only one pot out of ca 40 sown on Saturday. No other BCSS seed up yet but a few from the Piltz packets sown the same day are up.

Re: BCSS Seeds
It was my contamination on the non cactus seedlings. Two neighbouring pots have shown the same weedlings so I must have dislodged something when putting the tray of pots in to the propagator.
Astros and Wilcoxias ex Piltz looking good. Lithops ex BCSS coming through. Epiphylum hybrids from a fella on eBay looking good after 2 weeks.
My seeds are sown in 2" sq pots. These are placed in a 3" deep tray which is covered with twin wall polycarbonate (I also use this for greenhouse insulation). The propagator sits under the staging in my greenhouse and has a dampened sand bed which is heated with soil warming cables. Light is provided with a fluorescent grow light (old, I may need to update one day.....). This year, for the first time, I will be watering with water from a dehumidifier to avoid salt deposition.
I'm no pro but this set up has always worked well for me.
