With the server's disk being full yesterday, and bandwidth being used up today, is this the right place to ask again if some new fit for purpose hosting is on the agenda?
The problem I foresee is if we're using such bargain basement hosting as we can't even cope with current volumes both in terms of storage and bandwidth, then what will happen with a new, potentially heavier load site with more content and potentially more or larger images? This is especially a problem if you do manage to entice more users to the site.

I will look into that but the BCSS has its own server now it doesn't share space on CactisMall so that shouldn't have occurred, as I know there is more than adequate bandwidth, memory and storage.

I've just posted this on a different thread. It was an error message I got at around 8 am today.Bill wrote:I will look into that but the BCSS has its own server now it doesn't share space on CactisMall so that shouldn't have occurred, as I know there is more than adequate bandwidth, memory and storage.

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later."

Seems we had a a large increase in usage this month, in the past we have averaged 35gbs peaking at just over 43gbs meaning the allotted bandwidth for the forum (website has its own bandwidth allocation) of 50gb was adequate, however current month usage is closing in on 60gb. We will monitor the situation and increase if necessary.

I too couldn't access the forum yesterday morning.
There is a big danger in letting web designers design a site to do what is technically possible, enjoyable for them to work on, and following the latest fashion.
For me simplicity of navigation, no distracting unnecessary images or animated image boxes, easy access to content with no clutter are top priorities.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned, I assume that current forum content will be migrated intact to the new web site?

Something slightly wrong with the haworthia site in terms of security - need to ensure browsers/virus checkers do not warn people away from the site
Re: BCSS Website - have your say - functionalty.
All content will be migrated as it has been in past changes to the software.
Jim, the security thing is not an issue for users of the Haworthia site as the security warning is to do with passwords and only 2 people have password access. I assume you are using Chrome, its Google that started this off, initially for sites where you enter a password or card details but eventually for all sites, effectively it means we have to spend money to buy a security certificate and then modify our site to deliver the pages as HTTPS at the whim of a megabucks corporation. But it is in hand.
