Just got back, it would have been an hour earlier if they hadn't closed the M25

A great day out as always, shame I can't make a weekend out of it, one day isn't enough as it's too much of a rush, but I managed to get a few wants ticked off the list and buy a few more too.

Highlights for me were a nice 2" M deherdtiana to replace the one that got demolished by mealies earlier this year, a super plant and one of my favourite Mamms.

Also a 1.5" Aztekium ritteri that was lurking on a table in amongst all kinds of other cacti so it was pleasant surprise to spot it. I already have a grafted specimen but I've not had one on its own root before. It's the most expensive cactus I've ever purchased, I hope I don't kill it.

Looking again this morning it also appears I've bought some plants I already have due to them having been named by a synonym.

In this game you not only have to know the true name of the species but all their synonyms too, sometimes are are loads, not just species name but genus too. It's hard enough remembering 1000s of plant names as it is, never mind all their synonyms as well, and that's not to mention the 'made-up' names and dubious 'varieties'.

Well at least I'll have some pollination partners, and they're good plants otherwise I wouldn't have got them (again)

This is why I keep a complete list of my entire collection on my phone. But I still have 4 of the same plant all with different names, so even this cunning plan doesn't always work.

Anyway, everyone who went to ELK, don't despair. I'll buy your unwanted duplicates for 50% of what you paid, so not all is lost...

I came home with some nice plants. Three plants of Brunsvigia grandiflora, three plants of Mammillaria hernandezii, one Gymnocalycium vatteri, one Gymnocalycium tillianum and one Cyrtanthus spiralis. And also a big load of seeds I got from K.W.

I promised someone over the weekend, I think they were English, cuttings of a Sedum and I now can't remember who. Don't all clamour at once, you will have to tell me which species I promised in order to get it.
