This Stenocactus snuck upon me and started flowering before I even noticed the buds.

Only got buds on the Stenocactus plants up till now.
That is a fine looking plant Iann, what is the sp. or collection number.
I know a lot of the plants with white wool come with very little info.

SB 437. http://ralph.cs.cf.ac.uk/Cacti/fieldno. ... ldNo=sb437 says Echinofossulocactus crispatus , but my label says Stenocactus phyllacanthus var grandicornis.RAYWOODBRIDGE wrote:Only got buds on the Stenocactus plants up till now.

This was my first Stenocactus ( I still think of them as Echinofossulocactus) a few days ago. I've had the plant maybe thirty years, probably from Society seed, the label went long ago.

Long-spined Stenocactus are a favourite of mine. Easy to grow and abundant flowers too. I'll post some pics when I get a moment.
