Neoporteria growth
This side seems fine? Has it been damaged and growing through or am I going to find it going oddly cristate?
Thoughts?

Re: Neoporteria growth
First thing to do is take it out of the pot and have a look at the roots.
I very often find the 'root' cause of problems visible on the surface are below ground

That's just what I did. Looks to be a reasonable mix of compost and grit although not enough grit for me and my fear of problems with all this genus and root rot. There's a reasonable amount of good roots too. I presume this isn't a tap root former?

Re: Neoporteria growth
It looks as if it is just gaining or loosing a rib which many cacti do at times, not only Cerei but also globular ones like Astrophytums etc.
