This has just finished flowering so I have fresh seed. Anyone want for postage before I send to Chris43?

That's pretty, Jane - but I don't want any seeds thanks.

Growing a mixed collection of cacti & other succulents; mainly smaller species with a current emphasis on lithops & conophytum.

Thanks for your kind remarks. I will simply send to forum pool. I thought some newbies might have been interested but obviously not.

Have you grown seed previously, Jane? Just wondering if it's self-fertile? I think I collected seed from mine once, but never tried germinating it. With such dust-like seed, I can never tell from the appearance whether it's viable or not.

I recently discovered a cluster of self-sown seedlings in a pot adjacent to my Tacitus. So it does seem to produce viable seed and looking at it more carefully this year, the seed ripens and is shed very quickly (at least compared to my mesembs!).

Hi Mike,
I have only grown it from leaf cuttings. The seed is tiny and I am inexperienced at collecting it too so hope it is viable. I have sent some to Agavemad! Today so perhaps she will let us know! Have also sent balance to seed pool.
So someone else might try it too!

Hi Terry,
Well sounds as though you think the seed is viable. I only removed flowers yesterday so it really is very fresh.
I'm too impatient for seed!

Cactuspip,

I sent some to Agavemad and the balance to Chris at seed pool Chris43. I'm sure if you contact him he will sort you some. The seed is like dust so it's not as clean as should be but it is very fresh! Hope you get some. If that fails, let me know your address and I could send a couple of leaves. I've grown it successfully that way.
