Another gift from my dad, taken from a larger one he has.
It's about the size of a satsuma (the parent about the size of a grapefruit)
Guessing Echinopsis, ? hybrid or E. ancistrophora or E. hertrichiana......
Very slow growing, it's 20+ old yrs apparently
Any ideas?

Agree, Echinopsis something.
I doubt it's 20 years old though. The skin and spines at ground level look too fresh.

Definitely an Echinopsis but which one who can tell and I'm guessing the plant it came from is over 20years old as this doesn't look like it is

It has a feel of (the very variable) Echinopsis aurea to me.

Have you seen it (or the original plant) in flower - or has your Dad? Knowing the size and colour of the flower might help in narrowing it down a bit. At least, if it is 20+ years old then it is less likely to be one of the glut of recently-produced hybrids.

Collection mainly of cacti, though interested in a much wider variety of plants than I can accommodate!

Re: Another ID request please
I spoke with dad, cross wire with the age.
He's had the parent since 1992 ish, and it's never flowered although produces pups with frequency.
The one I have is around a year old.
Although I fear summer is over here (South of England), I have a bright, south West room to house the Cactuses and hope next summer will give me some flowers.
I'm looking to find out what this is so I can provide the best care and chance of flowers.
I appreciate everyone helping with the ID
