Thank you for bringing this to our attention Suzanne.

She certainly was remarkable and had amazing stories to tell.
Another great loss to the Cactus and Succulent world.
Especially interested in Mesembs. small Aloes and South African miniatures and bulbs.
Keen propagator and compulsive 'tickler'!

Yes very sad news, my brother in law spent a few months driving her around Saudi one year during her work on researching the second edition of her book and got to know her quite well.

He was working on the conservation project for the arabian oryx and staying out at a camp in the middle of the desert.

He had some interesting stories about trips threy did together to odd locations to see plants

As has been said a great loss.

Sheila Cude is alive and well; is this how rumours start? Sheila Colenette was a classic, slightly eccentric English lady (in the full meaning of the word), who lived for some time in Saudi Arabia and did much work on the flora of the area that culminated in a very thick book and a later revised version. She also collaborated with various other people such as John Lavranos who worked on Arabian succulents.
