Hi Iann,

I have also a fruit with 8 locules on a head and only 6 on the other on a L. pseudotruncatella subsp. archerae ex-C 104

It's still a seedling in a communal pot (about 3 years old) and grown pretty hard so it's quite small (about a centimeter across). I'm sure it'll grow larger over time. Here is a picture (5 cm pot, inch ruler for comparison))

Hi Astro,

My L. pseudotruncatella "alpina" ex-C 068 are also small.
Here in a 7 x 7 cm pot, plants 6 years old, sown December 20th 2011, seeds from MSG # 2609 "Hammer selection with almost-white flowers".

All my "Alpinas" are a pretty normal size for L. pseudotruncatella, although smaller than some of the known big types like ssp groendrayensis and "Pulmonuncula". Maybe I pump them up with too much water, although I doubt it. 8cm pot so not huge, but definitely bigger than 1cm. Interesting that the smallest seedling flowers while the big one looks on.

Hi Iann,

Your "alpina" looks normal in size but mine are smaller

My normal Pulmonunculas are bigger. Normal single headed type on the left (big flowers!), 6 heads on the right, from the same seed.

Hi Iann,

My biggest L. pseudotruncatella is the one shown above : subsp. archerae ex-C 104, about 6cm large.

My subsp. pulmonuncula are smaller.

Are they just younger, or do you think they are naturally smaller? My one ssp archerae is a modest double-header and it is over 10 years old. The Pulmonuncula are younger but larger.

Honestly Iann, I don't know, I'm interested in namibian Lithops since 2010.
