Field Number Database Not Working

Post by ralphrmartin »

My Field Number Database is currently not working, returning memory errors. I have not changed anything, so am baffled. We are "looking into it".

Seem alright to me.

I was working on editing the Manchester site this afternoon and it didn't want to open up - only for a few minutes, so was the server down for short a time?

It was me that reported it and it's been a problem for me both yesterday and today - and still. As there are a couple of urls that direct to the database, maybe only some of them are affected. For me, http://www.fieldnos.bcss.org.uk/fieldno ... dNo=kk2005 gives an error.

EDIT: Yes, http://ralph.cs.cf.ac.uk/cacti/fieldno. ... dNo=kk2005 is fine.

My mistake, sorry, I have used the old bookmarks to check. I must have been looking at the Cardiff hosted pages and not the BCSS ones.

That looks like the error message I get when I am out of storage space.

Hello,

This service should now be working.

There is a further issue being sorted out with the character sets which cannot be solved for the moment.

Thanks Suzanne, and thanks too to Tony for his help in fixing the memory issue.

Tony really needs some help, and I would urge anyone with suitable skills and interested in helping out to contact him.

Tony Mace, who runs the BCSS server. There have been adverts in the last few journals explaining that he needs help, and how to contact him.
