Help with ID Please (again - sorry!)

Post by Duns »

I bought a clutch of plants today from a local garden centre - most of which were labelled Cactus - Mix. Can anyone help ID the 3 plants in the images below? ( I have a few more needing ID'd but I'll save them for another day.

Many thanks

John

Number two looks like there are two (maybe four) cacti growing in the same pot.

The ones on the left look like Gymnocalyciums and the bigger one on the right looks like a Mammillaria.

The first one looks like it could be a very young ferocactus glaucescens.

1. Ferocactus sp. (too small to properly identify)
2. Mammillaria polythele and three Gymnocalycium (two possibly G. baldianum)
3. Mammillaria sp. (probably zeilmanniana or a hybrid thereof)

Thank you all for your help - at least I now have a good idea of what I am dealing with. I will separate the conglomerate of cacti in image 2 when I re-pot during winter.

Your help is much appreciated.
