A bit late, but yes, the shape of the flower spike is not right for A. ciliaris.
This hybrid looks more like A.ciliaris vegetatively and, sure enough, A. ciliaris var. ciliaris has been counted as a hexaploid. So if A. succotrina is a normal diploid, A. ciliaris will have contributed three times as much DNA.

Thanks for this information too, Derek! So if my plant is a hybrid, it's still based on the A. delaetii species, right? Never heard about aloes having multiplied number of chromosomes, but it's never late to learn something new about our green pets!
