Could anybody recommend any good books for Aloe, Haworthia and Gasteria, either as separate genera or together? I'd be looking for something with colour pictures, descriptions, growing guides etc rather than anything too scientific. Maximum budget £40 per book.
Thanks.

The special Haworthiad issue (or book, I should call it) that was issued for the 20th (?) or 25th birthday of the Haworthia Society is quite an interesting thing. It mainly focuses on retuse Haworthias.
With some luck you should be able to still buy a copy (it was free for Haworthia Society members) somewhere.

Re: Books: Aloe, Gasteria & Haworthia
There is nothing current for Gasteria and Haworthia, book wise.
For Gasteria there has really only been Ernst Van Jaarsveld's book, which is long out of print and commands quite high prices s/h, a new version is due in the near future.
For Haworthia, there is more choice. Bayer's Haworthia Revisted was for along time the bible, it has been published online https://haworthiaupdates.org/category/revisited/. The most recent publication was Schulz's Haworthia for the Collector, ok but out of print and I wouldn't go out of my way to find it. There are also Ingo Brueur's books https://www.eden-plants.com/, however I think they are all b&W and mostly in depth. The only recent publication is the Aloe special on Haworthiopsis, but obviously it only covers a very small number of plants.
Most of the back issues of Haworthiad are available on DVD http://www.haworthia.org/wordpress/shop/, which includes the 25th anniversary special that Aiko mentioned, it is actually Hybrids and Cultivars rather than species and as it happens it was the first edition that I had editorial responsibility for. Hard copies are still available.

There is also this
https://cssa.myshopify.com/products/beg ... om-glavich
but its rather basic, and not too many pictures, and not cheap.
On the other hand, sorry this is off topic, but if anyone wants a good picture book of Echeverias, I can recommend this one:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/%E5%A4%9A%E8%8 ... 4864900388
even if the text is in Japanese (there's not much of it), there is an excellent range of good pictures.
