BCSS INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION BOOKINGS

Post by David_K »

It’s time to get you convention booking in.
Xmas and New Year are all over so now is the time to be looking forward to the convention in July.
Unlike branch or zone events the International Convention is residential and this means we have to book the rooms with the university well in advance.
If we book too many rooms then cancel some we incur a financial penalty, however if we book too few there are not enough for those who want them.
This is not an evet to be missed so if you want to make sure you have a room at this once in 4 years event them please check out the details in your last few Journals and send in the booking form with your deposit as soon as possible.

Details here http://www.society.bcss.org.uk/index.ph ... ntion.html

Please note that the advert in the June 2018 Journal mentions an evening auction which will NOT now be taking place.
Please bring this to the attention of anyone who may be thinking of applying for the £30 Saturday “Access Only” tickets.

As I am getting a number of queries it seems not everyone has read all the details in the final request for payment which gave details of time and location to arrive and check in so I am repeating them here:

The postcode for arrival is LE2 2LH and on Friday July 13th the registration will take place in the John Foster Hall Reception off Manor Road from 14:00 – 16:00 where you will be given the full programme of events. Afternoon tea will be available in the Gilbert Murray Bar Area from 15:00 – 16:00.

Sales tables can be Set-up between 14:00 – 15:30 and the sales are will be open to buyers from 15:30.

Opening announcements in the lecture hall will be at 16:00 with the first lecture at 16.15.
