Logging on issue

Post by rodsmith »

I'm permanently logged on to the forum and never log off when I leave the BCSS website. However, the last two times I've visited the forum I've had to log on. Is this an issue with anyone else?

It happens all the time for me. At least it makes me remember my logging on details. I just sigh and put in the user name and password again. It's slightly irritating, I suspect it is caused by something happening outside the Forum website. No idea what, though.

If you deleted your browsing history recently or cleared out your cache and cookies, that may have done it.

Some anti-virus programs are obsessed with managing your passwords and may be the cause of it also.

No problems here of late. Using Firefox.

Happens all the time (and very randomly) on my IPad, but never on the PC!

That's useful information as I have recently cleared my cookies and browsing history on this PC. However, since then I've logged in 3 times and each time I've ticked the "Remember me on this computer" box and each time I've had to log in again. I've just come out of the website and reloaded the web page again with no problem so it could be that it's only happening after I shut down the computer and re-boot.

There may be a setting in your browser to clear out cookies every time the browser is shut down.
You might have that ticked.

I've used Google Chrome for several years and I've just updated to the latest version. This could be what is causing the problem. I'll have to check the settings. I had to log in again this morning.
