Fantastic garden (and photos) Paul. Difficult to believe it is in England!
Can you tell me what the spiky leaved plant is in the bottom right of the middle photo in the 2nd row of small photos? The leaves look a bit like a South American Eryngium I have (which has never flowered yet), but the flowers look like an Acanthus.

Collection mainly of cacti, though interested in a much wider variety of plants than I can accommodate!

Thank you Malcolm.
That plant is indeed an Acanthus - Acanthus hirsutus. It has unusual flower colour for an acanthus and fairly neat foliage, too - no mildew! Close up of the flower in the row below.

Hi Paul,
Looking amazing, do you think any agaves would survive in my garden, remembering it's quite windy with the fields at the back

I have had a couple of potted Agaves out in the garden for years Tina. Also grew bracteosa in a bed with no problem.

Re: A few pics from my place last year
Tina, as Mike says Agave bracteosa is one of the best. Also Agave filifera/schidigera, A. striata, A. univittata, A. polianthiflora. Of the bigger, more succulent types, Agave ovatifolia, montana and gentryi are good. I would try to make a raised bed for them if you are planting in that area at the back, or use one of the raised beds you already have by the greenhouses - but make the soil more freely draining.

Fantastic garden Paul, it reminds me of the gardens in Gibraltar.
Regards Keith.
