A few pics from my place last year

Post by Paul in Essex »

I had a photographer come round a couple of times last year and she has just assembled this page of pictures on her website. She takes a cracking picture does Sarah!

Wonderful Paul. It's marvellous to see succulents growing in this country outside. You have a lovely spot. Real credit to you.

A lovely garden and I would love a good look round. Wonderful Agaves and there are so many beautiful Echiums. Did I see E wildprettii, there? My area is just too wet and cold for them and there is no space in the greenhouse, unfortunately.
Obsessive Crassulaceae lover, especially Aeoniums but also grow, Aloes, Agaves, Haworthias and a select number of Cacti.

Most enjoyable Paul, the Agaves are especially impressive. Thanks for posting.

Thank you!

Liz - I had Echium wildpretii flower here quite a few years ago and the bees made hybrids with pininana - and they are hybrid plants that have been coming up ever since. Some favour E. wildpretii, some pininana and I never quite know what is going to pop up! Last year I also flowered E. gentianoides for the first time so I am hoping a bit of that intense gentian colour goes into the mix. And I have replanted E. wildpretii, too. If you do ever find yourself in SE Essex you are welcome to have a wander - same to anyone.
