But it's not just conos of course.....it's having a serious impact all the other plants that grow with and around them. Many plants are already dead or dying and it will take many years to recover from three consecutive years of dry winters. We can only hope the projections are wrong and this coming winter is wet.
It is interesting to see the current reservoir levels. Clanwilliam dam for example is almost empty, currently only 8.1% full down from 9.7% last week. https://www.westerncape.gov.za/general- ... dam-levels
So not only the succulents will suffer but the citrus and wine industries as well as the population.

What can people do for protect them?
Or could people collect seeds from the plants or plants to nursery for protecting?
