Unpotting a plant this morning and the label didn't want to come out before I tipped the pot up. Decided to investigate to see why the label didn't want to come out and found this......
Would be very easy to break a root like that looking at the label and then watering the plant before it has time to heal. Could have lost me the plant quite easily.
Unexplained rotting of plant.

I don't see that as a big problem, Chris. Roots are broken all the time with repotting, it's a normal part of the process.

I was thinking more what would have happened if I hadn't repotted it and broke the root pulling at the label before/after watering.ragamala wrote:I don't see that as a big problem, Chris. Roots are broken all the time with repotting, it's a normal part of the process.

Without wishing to sound like a smarta**e I would avoid using labels with a hole through them!
It just shows how roots have a mind of their own!
I would carefully cut the label so that it could be disentangled then put a new point on it.
