First flower of the year for me

Nice flower, but I can't call it spring no matter what the calendar says. My Cintia is daring me to water it, but the weather for the next week just looks too drab.

I thought it was spring earlier this week when I found this Echeveria calderoniae in flower. A small plant in a 3" pot, first time it has flowered, always an exciting event.

But it's not spring today!

Fell to temptation today, gave the plants in the cold greenhouse their first drop of water since mid September, only a light watering mind, but we still need a few hours sunshine.

PS. noticed lots of buds forming on the Astrophytums someone must think it is spring

When the last lot of snow from 2 weeks ago melted, I did think that was it for this winter (I also thought that after the previous load). The snow 2 weeks was dry, with some wind, so didn't stick on plants much. Last night's lot was wet, with little or no wind, so has stuck on branches and flowers much more - unfortunate for all the daffs. At least it didn't blow inside the cactus cold frames like last time.

As far as I can see it will be dire for the next 2 weeks at least, a little warmer maybe but jetsream forecast tells me that we are stuck with poor/unsettled conditions. Until the Jetsream rises above the UK I can't see it being what we would call 'nice weather'. My Garden is clay mix soil and totally drenched, wifey can't plant anything out yet
