Turbinicarpus (missed first flower)

I have been anticipating the first flower on a little Turbinicarpus pseudopectinatus that I bought from Nick G almost three years ago. This was it last Saturday just before I left for a four day trip to France.

Needless to say that on my return my first action was to visit the greenhouse and yes I have missed seeing the flower open.
Still there is always next year.

It had not yet opened in the photograph, that was before I went away for four days. Apparently we had a couple of hot sunny days where it will have opened but now it is cold and damp in London and the flower had definitely opened and is now over.

These should go a bit longer than just a few days. I expect one to two weeks.

The weather is said to improve by the weekend so here's hoping it will open when we get some sun again.
