Re: Damage to Lobivia
Around 40, perhaps?? It came from Graham Slack's collection break up, and the label says it's "ex GJC 2656H ex SPI ex J. Hopkins", which I take to mean that this was a plant that John Hopkins bought through Südamerikanische Pflanzen Import, probably in the early 1970s, so I'm guessing that he was propagating it in the late 70s and that a cutting found its way into the early collection of Graham Charles. If Graham Slack acquired it with Graham Charles's accession number, perhaps it was disposed of by him rather than propagated and passed on. Lots of guesswork there, though.
Phil Crewe, BCSS 38143. Mostly S. American cacti, esp. Lobivia, Sulcorebutia and little Opuntia
