Venlo greenhouse

Post by Paul D »

Does anyone here have a Venlo greenhouse? I'm trying to find some pics of how the glazing is fixed in, and the internal strut and vent structure, on the smaller models (6.4m wide).
Thanks.

Graham has a greenhouse from Cambridge HOK, but not sure if it's a Venlo...

I think mine may be too large ( depending if you are talking total width or width of a single bay)... but can offer photos if it will help you, it is 40 ft wide by 100 feet. It has 4 "bays". I never was good at metric conversion :???: I bought it about 1993 so it must be about 25 years old, don't recall the make off hand.

Don't forget that Venlo is a style of greenhouse developed in the Dutch town of that name. I would imagine that details such as glazing could vary between manufacturers.

Why not simply email the firm and ask?

That's only one company, Dave? Isn't the point that Venlo describes a type of greenhouse, not a trade name. Maybe I am wrong but that's the way I always understood it.

I am puzzled by your link. This may now be a US company? Do the greenhouses, even imported through nl, all come from China?

It looks like it's not as simple as I thought. While there are at least a couple of companies seemingly using the word Venlo in their trading name, there also appear to be lots of different styles of Venlo (as a design rather than a trademark), with the common denominator being the steel truss structure which holds up the other parts. So I'll need to look carefully at the individual models.
Thanks again all.
